OZZY To The Rescue
July 16, 2003Michael Starr of the New York Post reports that there has been more trouble for Sharon Osbourne's menagerie of pets — with hubby Ozzy Osbourne coming to the rescue.
Last year, it was Pipi, Sharon's beloved pomeranian, who went missing (and was eventually returned by an anonymous thief). Now, Sharon tells Us Weekly that her black chihuahua, Lulu, was recently killed by coyotes who hopped a low fence separating the Osbourne manse from their Beverly Hills neighbors.
"It's so heartbreaking," Sharon says. In an effort to protect their other pets, "We bought a barbecued chicken and put poison in it and threw it over the fence." But last week, after her neighbors removed the chicken, Pipi was attacked — and was saved by a valiant Ozzy. "Ozzy heard the screams and fought and got Pip out of the coyote's mouth," Sharon says. Pipi underwent successful surgery, and the Osbournes now bring their pets indoors at sunset (which seems to be coyote mealtime).
